Welcome to Green Valley Veterinary Hospital

Veterinary Care Built Around People, Pets, and Relationships

At Green Valley Veterinary Hospital, we believe that caring for pets is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for people.

Every day, our team comes to work with one simple goal: to make a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them. From welcoming a new puppy into your family to helping an aging cat through a more serious health concern, we are here to provide thoughtful, compassionate veterinary care through every stage of your pet’s life.

As a privately owned veterinary hospital, we have the freedom to keep our focus where it belongs: on our patients, our clients, and our team. Our decisions are guided by what we believe is best for the pets and families who trust us with their care.

That personal approach is at the heart of who we are.

Privately Owned. Personally Invested.

Green Valley Veterinary Hospital is proud to be privately owned and independently operated.

For us, private ownership is about more than how our hospital is structured. It allows us to build a veterinary practice around the relationships that matter most, between our team, our clients, and their pets.

We believe veterinary medicine is most meaningful when the people providing care are genuinely invested in the people receiving it. That means taking the time to communicate, answer questions, follow up, and make sure you understand what is happening with your pet.

Our mission is simple:

We care for people by taking care of their pets.

It is a philosophy that guides the way we treat our patients, the way we communicate with families, and the way we support one another as a team.

“We love taking care of people. I’m a people person by nature, so getting to help someone by helping their pet is just such an amazing thing that we get to do.”

Our Story

Green Valley Veterinary Care opened its doors on May 6, 2019, in Troy, Ohio, with Dr. Mathews and three dedicated team members who shared a simple mission: to care for people by caring for their pets.

That mission has remained at the heart of Green Valley as we've grown.

As more families throughout Troy and the Miami Valley trusted us with their pets, our team grew as well. We welcomed **Dr. McArdle** to the practice and continued building a team of veterinary professionals who share our commitment to compassionate, personalized care.

With that growth came an opportunity to create something even better for our patients and their families.

Growing With Our Community

In 2024, Green Valley Veterinary Care moved into our larger, state-of-the-art facility at 2495 West Main Street in Troy.

Our new hospital gave us the space to expand while creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for the pets and people who visit us. It also allowed us to bring one of our ideas for making veterinary care easier to life: our convenient drive-through pharmacy pickup window.

Today, clients can use our drive-through to pick up medications, pet food, and other items without having to leave their vehicles. We know that small conveniences can make a big difference, whether you're caring for young children, have mobility challenges, are visiting during inclement weather, or simply have a busy day.

Our growth has changed our building and expanded our team, but it hasn't changed why we come to work every day.

We are still here for the same reason we were when we opened our doors in 2019: to care for people by taking care of their pets.

And we are grateful to continue growing alongside the families and pets of Troy and the Miami Valley.

One Team, From Start to Finish

When you visit Green Valley Veterinary Hospital, we want you to feel like you have a team beside you, not like you're being passed from person to person.

Our team is intentionally cross-trained and collaborative, with staff members working together across many different areas of the hospital. Rather than operating in isolated roles, our team members help one another wherever they are needed.

Most importantly, we strive to provide continuity of care.

The person who greets you when you arrive may also be the person helping manage your appointment and caring for your pet throughout their visit. By keeping communication connected from beginning to end, we can help make sure important details don't get lost along the way.

Our goal is simple: one team, one connected experience, and individualized attention for every pet and family.

A Team That Works Hard, and Has Fun Doing It

We take veterinary medicine seriously, but that doesn't mean we have to take ourselves too seriously.

Our team describes Green Valley as feeling like one big family. There is plenty of laughter, joking, and camaraderie throughout the day—but when a patient needs us, we know how to immediately shift gears and work together.

That balance is an important part of our culture.

We believe a positive, supportive team environment helps us provide better care. Our team members know one another, support one another, and step in wherever they are needed.

Whether we're welcoming a client at the front desk, assisting in an appointment, preparing for surgery, answering a phone call, or helping with a medication refill, we work together with the same goal: taking great care of your pet and your family.

Communication You Can Count On

When your pet is hospitalized or undergoing surgery, waiting for an update can be stressful.

That's why communication is such an important part of our approach.

When pets are with us for surgery or more serious medical care, our team makes an effort to keep their families informed with updates throughout the day. Whether it's letting you know that your pet is recovering from anesthesia or providing an update on their progress, we want you to know how your pet is doing.

We believe in transparency, honesty, compassion, and kindness, especially when you are worried about someone you love.

You should never feel like you're left wondering what is happening with your pet.

Veterinary Care That Fits Your Life

We know that veterinary appointments don't happen in a vacuum. Our clients are busy. You may have work, children, errands, and a dozen other things competing for your attention.

That's why we're always looking for ways to make veterinary care more convenient.

Drive-Through Pharmacy Pickup

Need to pick up your pet's medication, food, or another item from our hospital?

Our convenient drive-through pharmacy pickup window allows you to pull around to the front of the building and pick up what you need without having to get out of your vehicle.

The door automatically opens, allowing you to drive into the building and complete your pickup from your car.

It's a small convenience that can make a big difference, especially for families with young children, busy schedules, or pets who don't need another trip into the hospital.

Our goal is to make caring for your pet as easy and convenient as possible.

Caring for Pets Through Every Stage of Life

Your pet's needs change throughout their life, and we're here to help you navigate those changes.

Whether you're bringing home a new puppy who needs their first vaccinations and parasite prevention or you're caring for a senior cat whose health has suddenly changed, our team is here to help.

We provide veterinary care for pets at all stages of life, including:

  • Puppy and kitten wellness care
  • Vaccinations and preventive care
  • Parasite prevention
  • Routine wellness examinations
  • Diagnosis and treatment of illness
  • Senior pet care
  • Surgical care
  • Medication management
  • Ongoing care for chronic and changing health needs

Whatever stage of life your pet is in, our goal is the same: to help them live a healthy, comfortable life while supporting you along the way.
